GREP - Power Electronics Research Group

Our Research Group studies the design of Power Electronics converters, considering both multilevel and two level structures. The design concept includes the combination of new topologies, development of new analysis and modeling tools and methods, the implementation of new modulation and control techniques.  There is an special interest in converter structures based in high commutation frequency power transistors (MOSFET, IGBT), giving a special attention to the possibilities of new semiconductors' technologies that could improve in the near future (IGCT, SiC, etc). All this, oriented to new applications for power electronics converters in power management systems and supply systems.
